mīm studio is a Beirut-based research and practice studio exploring the threads that connect storytelling, craft and design. Through ongoing experimentation with archives, weaving, maps, natural materials, and clay, we delve into the layered narratives of Bilad al-Sham , its land, its people, and their stories.
Our projects are co-created with craftsmen/women, storytellers and the communities they belong to.

The studio is led by Mayssa Kanaan, who graduated from the American University of Beirut with a BA
in Landscape Architecture, and the Royal College of Art in London with an MA in Contemporary Art Practice.
