A studio for
storytelling,
design,
archiving narratives,
and experimenting with materials.
We weave forgotten histories,
tell stories of people, and crafts,
exploring connections with
storytellers, craftspeople, and lands.
the red sun that sets in the Mediterranean,
the waters that nourish the soil, and the olives that gift us the ancient oil.
We will always stay rooted in our land - however far we are.
As a response to the war in Lebanon, the series of 3 posters, 6 postcards and 3 t-shirts stemmed
from a collaboration with Joude Mabsout and were sold during fundraising events, to support
our trusted network of friends on the ground providing shelter, food and blankets to more than
1.2 people displaced from Southern Beirut and Lebanon.
During these times, we connect back to the voices that remind us that resistance
means holding onto our lands, our memories, our culture and our loved ones.
Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish, wrote “On This Land / على هذه الأرض”
in response to Israel’s occupation on his native land in 1969. Today, we still struggle
from the same zionist occupation and aggression in Palestine and Lebanon.
We borrow his words to create visual reminders to keep fighting,
to support each other and remind ourselves that we belong to our lands.
